Booth at Interwire 2007
US Synthetic Wire Die hosted a booth at Interwire 2007 in Cleveland. On display was a full range of PCD blanks used in wire dies. Free-standing blanks, carbide-supported blanks, as well as finished dies were available for inspection. The show was a great opportunity to introduce our product and meet many of the end users that were at the show.

Veteran polycrystalline diamond company offers PCD wire dies that enable more pounds of wire pulled per dollar
Orem, UT– May 1, 2007 – US Synthetic Wire Die, a new business unit of US Synthetic, today announced a new product line designed to serve the wire die industry. Leveraging its parent company’s polycrystalline diamond (PCD) expertise, US Synthetic Wire Die has developed dies that last longer than traditional PCD dies.
“Because US Synthetic Wire Die manufactures its own diamond blanks, the company has the ability to customize long-lasting dies to each customer’s unique applications,” said Richard Ladd, a recognized industry expert. “This results in faster turn-around times, higher levels of service and lower total cost of ownership than competitors who are dependent on third-party suppliers.”
Traditionally, the wire die industry is made up of two groups: diamond suppliers that provide diamond blanks and die makers who cut and polish those blanks into finished dies. Combining these steps into one process eliminates the middleman, enabling US Synthetic Wire Die to deliver integrated dies that enable more pounds of wire pulled per dollar than traditional PCD dies.
US Synthetic Wire Die’s integrated approach reduces the total costs traditionally associated with dies. This is due to the company’s PCD being more abrasive resistant which maintains wire tolerances longer than traditional products. US Synthetic Wire Die is focused on continuous improvement in PCD technology in wire die. In addition, its PCD blank sizes can be sized taller, allowing for more re-cuts.
